The Beginning
Our story began over 40 years ago when Sam, a veteran, discovered a love for peanuts while traveling. Inspired by the locals, he learned to roast peanuts using their own natural oil, experimenting with different flavors. Upon returning to California, Sam crossed paths with Benjamin, a deep-sea fisherman with a passion for food. Together, they set out on an adventure, traveling across the states—including Alaska—selling their roasted peanuts and showcasing their creations at fairs and festivals. This is where The Original Peanut was born.
Sam and Benjamin eventually settled in California, where they continued their journey selling peanuts at farmers' markets and swap meets. When Sam retired, he entrusted The Original Peanut to Benjamin, who dedicated another 30 years to perfecting the craft. Now, in the hands of Benjamin’s daughter, our family business proudly carries on the tradition.
We remain committed to delivering the same exceptional flavor, free from unhealthy oils and sugars. With the exception of our Cajun Peanut, we add no salt—just pure, simple goodness. As a family-owned business, we guarantee quality and freshness in every bite.
